The Department of Agriculture, Food, and Environment (Di3A) at the University of Catania and CSEI Catania, in collaboration with laborArch, DIAMETRO, and IRIDRA srl, present the seminar: “Art, Bioarchitecture, and Nature-Based Solutions for a New Culture of Environmental and Urban Regeneration.”

This initiative is part of the CARDIMED Project (in which the University of Catania partners with the City of Catania and IRIDRA srl) and aims to promote a new culture of urban regeneration in the Mediterranean context, which is increasingly exposed to climatic, hydrogeological, and social challenges.

Designed as a true laboratory for interdisciplinary dialogue, the seminar brings together art, architecture, agronomy, engineering, and geology to promote the adoption of nature-based solutions in line with European regulations on nature restoration.

During the day, participants also had the opportunity to visit the green roof installed on the Di3A building: a concrete example of the application of Nature-Based Solutions in a university setting, which serves as an experimental laboratory for climate mitigation, stormwater management, and the improvement of urban environmental quality.
