Questa relazione, intitolata <strong>\u201cPerformance evaluation of HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS models to locate Nature-Based Solutions in a Sicilian hydrological river basin&#8221;<\/strong>, \u00e8 stata realizzata in collaborazione con esperti di diversi settori, tra cui docenti del Dipartimento di Agricoltura, Alimentazione e Ambiente come <strong>Prof.<\/strong> <strong>Giuseppe Luigi Cirelli<\/strong> e <strong>Prof.<\/strong> <strong>Feliciana Licciardello<\/strong>, insieme a <strong>Dott.<\/strong> <strong>Marzio Melis<\/strong>, <strong>Dott.ssa<\/strong> <strong>Angela Ingenio<\/strong> e <strong>Dott.<\/strong> <strong>Manuel Sapiano<\/strong> dell&#8217;Energy &amp; Water Agency di Malta.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il focus della presentazione \u00e8 stato sull&#8217;analisi delle prestazioni dei modelli HEC-HMS e HEC-RAS nell&#8217;individuazione di Soluzioni Basate sulla Natura in un bacino idrografico siciliano, specificamente il torrente Lavinaio situato vicino ad Aci Catena (Catania, Sicilia). L&#8217;obiettivo dello studio \u00e8 di sviluppare infrastrutture verdi capaci di ridurre i rischi di inondazioni nelle zone urbane e periurbane, oltre a migliorare la qualit\u00e0 delle acque piovane. Nel suo intervento, la <strong>Dott.ssa Liviana Sciuto<\/strong> ha evidenziato le sfide poste dai sistemi di drenaggio tradizionali e ha sottolineato l&#8217;importanza di adottare un approccio basato sulla filosofia della &#8220;CITT\u00c0 SPUGNA&#8221; nella gestione delle acque piovane, tenendo in considerazione l&#8217;incremento delle precipitazioni a causa dei cambiamenti climatici e dell&#8217;urbanizzazione crescente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La ricerca presentata rientra nel progetto GIFLUID, che si dedica allo studio di strategie e soluzioni innovative per la gestione idrica e la riduzione del rischio idrogeologico, con un particolare interesse verso le &#8220;Soluzioni basate sulla Natura&#8221; (NBS) e le infrastrutture
